Urgent!!! MS SQL Database Administrator for a Multinational Company

Responsibilities:

* Systems level Database administration for clients hosted Applications at IBM data centers
* • Limited Application level DBA responsibility for Investments developed applications hosted at the IBM data centers
* • Provide primary or back-up support for a sub-set of applications, addressing all the requests and production calls for the application, from Development through production and Disaster Recovery
* • Diagnose and correct database failure conditions. Escalate as required for assistance
* • Pro-actively monitor and adjust database parameters and support structures
* • Provide on-call production database support for SQL Server production database environments. Over time, learn how to support Sybase and then Oracle based applications
* • Ensure top DB performance via proper DB maintenance, tuning DB server for MS SQL Server 2000 / 2005 initially, then Sybase and then Oracle
* • Install and establish databases using documented database utilities and processes to help the development / maintenance process
* • Development and maintenance of relational data definitions to support Investment internal, reference and external data

Requirements:

* • College or University degree in computer science, information systems, business, mathematics or equivalent experience
* • Exposure and some understanding of Investments or insurance industry, compliance and regulatory requirements ie: SEC and SOX
* • 3 – 5 years of relevant SQL Server 2000 / 2005 database experience is required
* • Must have exposure to Sybase database from a backup and restore perspective
* • Good understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles and practices
* • Good diagnostic, analytical, and problem solving skills
* • Has ability to manage their time to be most effective
* • Good process orientation, use of best practices and templates both in Projects and in steady state. Able to confidently ask for help when the need arises
* • Knowledge of Sybase 12.x or Oracle 9x or Oracle 10x would be a definite advantage
* • Previous experience with ‘packaged’ or purchased application environments is a plus
* Mus be willing to work in Quezon City and on a 24×7 schedule(rotating shift)
