Web Server Engineer (Unix & Windows)
RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Deployment of application code and infrastructure changes
* Problem identification/circumvention and problem resolution
* Communicate with application development teams and vendors to improve current implementations
* Root cause analysis
* Project work including new application/functionality implementation
* Process documentation (creation and maintenance)
* Application groups’ contact for Disaster Recovery tasks(including participation in tests and assisting with documentation)

* Specific responsibilities include:
* Deliver physical and virtual server builds, web/middleware installs and application installs in Wintel environments that meet project requirements and deadlines
* Configure, maintain and support IIS infrastructure including performance tuning
* Configure, maintain and troubleshoot VMWare ESX infrastructure
* Configure, maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft Cluster environments
* Install, configure and maintain Windows Server 2003 and 2008 Operating Systems
* Test, configure and evaluate all new server, web and middleware technologies
* Represent team on infrastructure projects and provide technical recommendations and best practices to project teams
* Effectively communication with customers with regards to downtime, project updates and troubleshooting progress
* Troubleshoot and provide technical analysis concerning operating system, network, and application performance issues to resolution
* Support patching, ticket queue maintenance, execution of change controls, anti-virus upgrades and security remediation
* Troubleshoot and repair server hardware components to resolution
* Maintain operating system and application software patch levels on all servers
* Create detailed technical documentation relating to operating system, application build, server build, performance, and stability recommendations
* Provide timely and effective communication on technical matters

REQUIREMENTS:

* Unix Release Management (Primary focus)
* Experience in UNIX based environments such as Solaris, AIX and Linux.
* Focus of work experience should be with web and application servers such as Apache/HTTP Server, Iplanet, Weblogic and Websphere.
* Experience with WebSphere MQ Server, Perl/Shell Scripting, IIS5, IIS6, ASP/X a plus.
* Customer focused attitude and good communication skills.

* Windows Experience a plus
* Windows Server (2003 preferred) / 3+ years
* IIS configuration and security (IIS 6 or 7 preferred) / 3+ years
* .Net Framework 2.0 and 3.5
* Windows Server security including active directory and file system
* Experience in distributed applications on Windows Server
* Customer focused attitude and good communication skills
