SENIOR WEB PRODUCTION EDITOR – Manila based
(National Capital Reg – Makati City)

Responsibilities:
The Role

You will be responsible for all aspects of online editorial production work from preparing stories for the web, through to picture selection and homepage publishing. You will write standfirsts, subheads, headlines and picture captions for FT.Com while ensuring production quality is consistent with the FT brand. In addition, you will moderate readers’ comments, update homepages and indepth pages. Hyperlinking, tagging and embedding pictures and multimedia are other essential duties of this role. You must also have a high degree of business acumen, sound news judgement and the ability to adapt to the FT’s editing style and high standards. It is essential that you can work in a revise role and have the confidence and communication skills to mentor junior staff.

Requirements:
The Successful Applicant

You will have a proven track record in publishing, preferably for both print and online, as well as the ability to adhere to strict editorial standards. You must be able to demonstrate project management skills, including the ability to make sound judgments and quick decisions. You will be able to produce quality work within deadline. You will also have a genuine interest in news and the ability to work with minimum supervision. Other pre-requisites include a sharp eye for detail and the ability to learn new skills quickly. Ideally, you would have had experience working as a production editor for a quality business website, publication or other media organisation with a global audience.
