IS Telephony Engineer (3rd Line)

Responsibilities:
This position requires a telephony engineer to assist our existing engineers in configuring our Asterisk system, integrating it with our existing Avaya phone system in other offices and to help plan a global rollout of Asterisk for the whole company.
Project Delivery
* Assist with the design, planning and implementation of Asterisk PBX
* Assist with the design, planning and implementation of Asterisk to all SSS offices, replacing existing Avaya systems
* Provide Initial responses & technical guidance to customers regarding their project requests / requirements
* Maintain a good understanding of technology to meet these requirements
* Contribute to the successful delivery of solutions to meet these requirements
* Ensure documentation is created or updated to reflect any changes or additions to the infrastructure
* Collaborate with the IS teams worldwide to ensure successful delivery of projects
Technical Support
* Provide 3nd level Technical Support & System Administration on the following technologies:
* Required:Telephony (VOIP, Asterisk), Linux CentOS Server Operating Systems
* Advantageous: ViCi Dial, Programming – PHP, Pearl, C, MS Windows Server Operating Systems, Cisco Inter-networking Technologies, PC / Laptop Hardware, Server Hardware
* Provide “out of hours” support on a rota basis
* Complete periodical checks & routines as defined to ensure the “smooth operation” of the SSSH infrastructure. For example: Back-ups, AV updates, OS Service Pack & patches etc.
* Implementation of new systems, applications and technologies.
* Follow IS procedures for IT Service Management best practices as defined and published by the IS management team.
* Produce & update documentation including diagrams, documents & Intranet content
Service Delivery
* Maintenance & Support of Services and their components as agreed and published in Service Level Agreements
* Collaborate with Internal teams & resources as defined in Operational Level Agreements to ensure the efficient delivery of Services as agreed and published in Service Level Agreements
* Provide “good” customer service to all customers (internal & external)
* As part of the IS team monitor all ITSM processes, feedback recommendations for improvement into the Continual Service Improvement Programme.
Requirements:
* Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
* At least 3 years telephony experience, specifically with Asterisk.
* Preferably experienced employees specializing in IT/Computer – Network/System/Database Admin or equivalent.
* Required skill(s): Telephony (Asterisk, Avaya PBX, VOIP, ), Linux CentOS Server Operating Systems, Server Hardware
* Required language(s): Good English Communication skills.
